Sore testicular pain, lasting about two weeks?

Alright, so I'm not a boy, but my boyfriend is "waiting for it to go away" even though it's been lingering for about 2 weeks now. Ball pain that is. He complains about it now and then and is always 'adjusting'. I feel bad for him because, though I don't understand, I feel like it's gotta be uncomfortable! I'm just curious to know if this is normal or if he needs to see a doctor. I don't think it's blue balls because whenever we do anything sexual, we see it through to the end. We actually haven't done anything in about 2 weeks because of the pain. He's 21. Any advice?
